In Greensboro-High Point, manufacturing is in our DNA—we are the state’s second highest county for manufacturing jobs, and number four in the Southeast. Which means our region is among the first to adapt to the latest innovations in manufacturing.
Making and Moving
are in Our DNA
Home to a young, skilled workforce, wide range of manufacturing training programs and degrees, central location and superior transportation network, Greensboro-High Point is one of the most advanced manufacturing clusters in the Southeast. Excellent workforce training programs and apprenticeships at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) and other regional colleges provide students with the skills that manufacturing companies are looking for. The $35.5 million GTCC Center for Advanced Manufacturing covers nearly six acres and gives five different college programs access to state-of-the-art equipment. Our local public school system prepares high school students for their future careers, with Smith High School offering curriculum from the Acadamy of Advanced Manufacturing & Engineering.
As one of the largest manufacturing hubs in North Carolina, our region produces a diverse array of products ranging from auto parts to wireless devices. We even produce iconic American products like Thomas Built yellow school buses. We’re also home to some of the largest manufacturing centers in North Carolina, including company manufacturing sites like Qorvo and Gilbarco Veeder-Root.
