James M. Pleasants Company (JMP) Announces Major Expansion

James M. Pleasants Company Inc. (JMP), a distributor and sales representative for HVAC, plumbing, and industrial equipment, is set to consolidate its Greensboro operations into a new, state-of-the-art facility in Guilford County. This $30 million project will create 40 new jobs and marks a significant milestone for the company.

Established in 1958, JMP represents over 50 product lines for manufacturers and provides complete solutions from its own packaged solutions division. JMP specializes in commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, alongside plumbing products and accessories. They also manufacture commercial pump skids, essential for fluid transfer, circulation, and control. The company’s reach extends across the Southeastern United States, and this new project will integrate their operations into one cohesive location.

“We have a very strong leadership team and workforce in Greensboro, and this expansion makes a strong statement about our ongoing commitment to our team, the Greensboro community, and the commercial and industrial markets we currently serve from this facility,” said Chuck Moore, JMP’s Vice President of Operations. “We couldn’t be more excited about this expansion — not only what it means for our company but what it means for Greensboro and the Triad region as well,” he added.

“We’re thrilled that JMP is keeping its headquarters in Greensboro and creating several new jobs in the area. This is a big win not only for our workforce but, more importantly, for the overall economic vitality of the community,” said Sherri Thomas, Board Chair of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to be a part of the collaboration between JMP, the State of North Carolina, and our economic development partners to make this happen.”
